I closed Writer and reopened the ‘bad’ HTML file and the problem reappeared. I created a new HTML file and the problem reappeared (i.e. the empty file causes the crash). I can now recreate the problem, I think, always. I rename my profile. Start Writer. When I start it anew, I can Format Page on the new, default ODF document. If I then File New HTML document, I notice the rule ‘looks weird’ – it is 14” wide. Format Page does nothing. No crash, but no other effect. If I enter any text (i.e. two spaces) and Format Page, Writer crashes, etc..
