PostgreSQL does not support editable views. You can fake them with rewrite
rules. See
http://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.1/static/rules-views.html#RULES-VIEWS-UPDATE

Don't forget to give the user SELECT/INSERT privileges on the view (not on the
underlying table).

Anyway, in my experience this does not depend on the order of the columns in
the table.
