Reproducible the situation:
Win7x64
LibreOffice 3.3.4 OOO330m19 (Build:401)tag libreoffice-3.3.4.1
   Inherited from OOo.
Version: 4.2.5.1 Build ID: 881bb88abfe2992c6cede97c23e64a9885de87de
Version: 4.3.0.0.beta2 ID: a06aa316117a6ff0f05c697c82831c227812d810

As SUBTOTAL() works only with filtered rows/columns not with hidden, and the
filter it's not copied, then sums all rows.

I think not copy the filter could be the true problem. But I don't know if a
filter can be copied through the clipboard, seems to me not.

A way to do it is:
Menu/Insert/Object/OLE object
 - Create from file
 - Marking link file option
 - Search and select the source file.
