Priority: medium
Bug ID: 79943
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: FILEOPEN: Relative path hyperlink to local PDF file:
security setting is too rigid
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.2.4.2 release
Component: Spreadsheet
Product: LibreOffice
Created attachment 100928
--> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=100928&action=edit
A zip'd file with a spreadsheet and the PDF I refer to.
Hyperlink in libreoffice calc to a local PDF file using a relative path fails
with this response in the invoking terminal window:
gvfs-open: file:kitty.pdf: error opening location: Operation not supported
The hyperlink is
=HYPERLINK("file:kitty.pdf","meow")
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a PDF file with name kitty.pdf
2. Open libreoffice calc
3. Create a hyperlink as above to this file in the same directory
4. Click (or ctl-click as required)
5. Note response
Current behavior:
"error opening location: Operation not supported"
Expected behavior:
Opening a PDF for viewing.
Using a full path is not useful as I am sending this document and hyperlinked
files to another person using a different computer system.
There should be if there is not a security setting permitting this behavior.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.2.4.2 release
