Tried latest 4.2 version (4.2.4.2), latest 4.3 beta version (libreoffice-4-3~2014-06-10_07.13.43_LibreOfficeDev_4.3.0.0.beta2_MacOS_x86) and all various options (even the option "LibreOffice/Open-Save dialogs/Use LibreOffice dialogs to not use Mac OS X native dialogs). The results are the same: all selected files in the open dialog are modified! The Mac OSX version I (still) use is 10.6.8.
