Priority: medium
Bug ID: 80487
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: EDITING: page breaks at every paragraph
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: unspecified
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
This is what I experience with Libre 3.
I'd like to try Libre 4, & downloaded it. But can't get it to do anything. It
just sits in folder. Nothing I click can seem to make it wake up and do
anything. If I click "open" it just shows me the technical folders that are
inside. It doesn't actually start running the program. And I can't find
anything that will make it.
I really like Libre Writer but it has many shortcomings.
The worst is its way of organizing everything as "sections".
This seems to inspire it to insert page breaks automatically, every time you
have a new paragraph with different indentation, or italics, or without
italics, etc. Basically everywhere any formatting changes.
But these stealth page breaks don't show up in "Page Preview" either.
If you have document of a few to a hundred pages, you may be unpleasantly
surprised to find it, after it prints, that there is just one paragraph on each
page, because it has mistaken every paragraph end for a page break.
