This issue is caused by the imprecise representation of decimal numbers by digital computers. It is a well known issue in numerical analysis and scientific computing. In all, the addition result is order sensitive with some orderings returning 0.0 and others the value reported in comment 2. Descending and ascending order summed to 0.0 in LO.
