The (originally empty) file after opening in Calc.
Problem description:
When I manually create a 0-byte (empty) file and give it e.g. ODT extension,
opening it in Writer shows up a document with some random characters. Also,
Writer alters that file (without clicking to save!) so that after that the file
has ca 1.5 kB. The file is not a valid ZIP archive, but Writer is able to
reopen it. The same issue with Calc.
Why do I report this enhancement request? Because it'd be nice for me not to
have to press Ctrl+N and then wait for the save dialog to appear in order to
create and save a new file. Instead, it'd be more convenient for me to go to my
file manager, create and name the file there, and then press Enter to open it.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Create an empty file and name it test.odt.
2. Open that file in Writer.
3. Close it (it is possible even without saving).
Current behavior:
- The file is no longer empty after opening in Writer. The resulting file is
not a valid ZIP archive.
- The opened document contains some random mess.
Expected behavior:
- The file remains unchanged until the user explicitly saves it.
- LO should open a blank document (type of the document should correspond to
the file's extension).
- It should be possible to save the document and then it should be a valid ODT
file.
