The behavior is the same on version 4.2.5. I don't consider this a bug, but
rather a suggestion for a future improvement, in which selecting a range
confines the cursor/active cell to that range until the range is specifically
unselected (either with a mouse-click outside the selection or using a Ctrl or
Alt arrow key combination). It would help if the selected area weren't
displayed completely black (50% gray should be enough), but I haven't yet
looked to see if there's a place where the user can change it (which there
shouldn't be, the options list for Calc and Libre Office is much too large for
the tiny pages on which they're modified, and there's no easy way to find the
one you want if you don't know if it even exists).
