Priority: medium
Bug ID: 81392
Assignee: [email protected]
Summary: Other: enhancement request
Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
Reporter: [email protected]
Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Version: 4.2.5.2 release
Component: Writer
Product: LibreOffice
After closing a document in the Writer component, the image of the closed page
remains displayed on the desktop as a 'Recent Document'. This can be cleared
by going to File -> Recent Documents -> Clear List. However, that menu is
buried (sorta) and is a bit of a hassle.
Would it be possible to add a button, maybe at the bottom of the left pane,
near the Help and Extensions buttons, that would do the same job? It'd be
easier and quicker.
While I know you want to keep the page as clear as possibe, this shouldn't
make many demands on the interface.
Barring a button, two other options are possible. Adding a shift-key
equivalent to the command would be useful. Even better, if the Options command
could include the ability to turn off the display of these recent documents
(clear the history), or simply not to keep track of any recently used documents
in the first place. I'd like to think that if the software simply didn't
record any history at all, my work would be more secure.
Sorry for troubling you, but this has 'bugged' me for awhile and I thought
I'd send it on.
Operating System: Windows 7
Version: 4.2.5.2 release
