Owen Genat <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- OS|Linux (All) |All Status|UNCONFIRMED |NEW Summary|Dual x-axis on plots |FORMATTING: Set scale on | |chart primary / secondary | |x-axes independently Component|Writer |Chart Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #1 from Owen Genat <[email protected]> --- (In reply to comment #0) > In Microsoft Office it is possible for users to create a plot with dual > x-axes where each axis has a different scale. > ... > I know it is possible to have dual axes but they must be the same, > it would be great if a user could specify what each axis scale should be. This seems like a reasonable request although it would appear to require further clarification as to whether this is possible under ODF v1.2 and what this means for interoperability (if Excel is already doing this). Would appear to either require: (a) Setting a category child element in each X axis definition e.g. it is possible to have this: <chart:axis chart:dimension="x" chart:name="primary-x" chart:style-name="ch4"/> <chartooo:date-scale/> <chart:categories table:cell-range-address="Sheet1.A2:Sheet1.A5"/> </chart:axis> <chart:axis chart:dimension="x" chart:name="secondary-x" chart:style-name="ch5"/> ... but having a separate chart:categories element for each X-axis would allow specifying independent values. (b) Allowing data series to be attached to X-axes e.g., it is possible to have this for Y-axes: <chart:series chart:attached-axis="primary-y" chart:style-name="ch9" chart:values-cell-range-address="Sheet1.B2:Sheet1.B5" chart:label-cell-address="Sheet1.B1:Sheet1.B1" chart:class="chart:bar"> <chart:data-point chart:repeated="4"/> </chart:series> <chart:series chart:attached-axis="secondary-y" chart:style-name="ch10" chart:values-cell-range-address="Sheet1.C2:Sheet1.C5" chart:label-cell-address="Sheet1.C1:Sheet1.C1" chart:class="chart:bar"> <chart:data-point chart:repeated="4"/> </chart:series> ... which again allows separate ranges to be specified for the primary / second axes. I agree it would be great if the scales could be set independently. It would seem to be compatible with ODF v1.2 but this really needs to be determined by an expert. Confirmed. Status set to NEW. Component set to Chart. Platform set to All/All. Summary edited for clarity. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
