If it's not stable, I can't use it or ask others to use it. My clients and I experience crashes with the stable components (bugs have been filed), so venturing into unstable territory seems like a bad idea. But now that we know (according to this thread), that this is really a labeling error, that changes almost everything. The only issue is Java, about which I have mixed emotions. I think Java is fantastic in so many ways, but it also has a history of errors in the installer. Speed of running a macro might be an issue if the java subsystem has to load when the macro is called for the first time. Furthermore, before I can recommend it to clients, I will have to do a full read of all related security issues.
