Created attachment 57426
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=57426
typescript of gdb session

I am filing this attachment and comment here instead of a new bug
because:
(*) The problem is evident with the same document
(*) soffice.bin pegs the CPU for several minutes

Note, however, that my situation is different from the originally
reported bug:
(*) I was trying to close the file (and the program), not to save the
    file.
(*) My loop is merely (!) about fifteen minutes long, not endless.

If a separate bug report would be more useful, I can file one.
Meanwhile, carrying on ...

I am running on ubuntu-natty (11.04) 32-bit, master commit 53ca46c,
pulled 2012-02-09 around 20:10 UTC, and configured with ...
    --disable-mozilla
    --enable-symbols
    --enable-dbgutil
    --enable-crashdump
    --disable-build-mozilla
    --without-system-postgresql
    --enable-python=internal

Here is what I did and saw.

( 1) Within gdb, `set args` naming CREDITS.odt as distributed in LO.,
then `run`. While the program was opening the file, the progress
bar at the bottom of the LibreOffice window went across the
window about 29 times; and then after several seconds delay, the
content of the document appeared in the window. The LO window
already showed the Search toolbar at the bottom.

This brings us to line 75 of the attached typescript.

( 2) Within the document, I typed ctrl-F. Progam moved insertion
     point into the search toolbar.

( 3) I typed "asdf" and clicked <Find Next>. Proram displayed dialog
     box "Search key not found".

( 4) I clicked <OK>. Program closed the dialog box.

We are still at line 75 o0f the attached typescript.

( 5) In the vertical scrollbar, I clicked below the thumbwheel. The
program displayed the text farther down the document.

This brings us to line 84 of the typescript.

( 6) Eight times more, I clicked below the thumbwheel, and the program
displayed the text farther down the document.

This brings us to line 86 of the typescript.

( 7) Five times more, I clicked below the thumbwheel, and the program
displayed the text farther down the document.

This brings us to line 87 of the typescript.

( 8) Twice more, I clicked below the thumbwheel, and the program
displayed the last part of the document.

We are still at line 87 of the typescript.

( 9) I clicked on the "close" icon in the title bar of the LibreOffice
window. The program closed the window.

(10) About 15 seconds later, `top` started showing soffice.bin using
     all available CPU cycles.

(11) About half a minute after that, in `gdb` I typed ctrl-C.

This brings us to line 105 of the typescript.

(12) In gdb, `info threads` and `thread apply all backtrace`.

This brings us to line 509 of the typescript.

(13) In gdb, `cont`. After about 15 minutes, the program exited
     normally.

Note exceptions and an assertion in the typescript.
