Unfortunately neither of the following suggested follow-ups are available:
export DEBUGCPPUNIT=TRUE
export CPPUNITTRACE="gdb --args"
as on recent OSX / Xcode, lldb must be used instead of gdb, and the command
line options are incompatible.
