Hello =)
I want to be able to use Libre Office as a story and writing tool by treating
each cell as seperate documents which can be combined by selecting multiple
cells and pasting into Notepad or other word processors, or saved as a combined
selection. In other words, scenes could be arranged on the fly by moving cells
around, then exported to form a complete, flowing story (or whatever type of
writing yyou are doing)
There are several BUGS (no, bugs are not 'features' so please don't waste your
time making excuses) that totally unnecessarily limit this functionality. The
first is the 'wrap text' feature keeps enabling itself even after it is
deselected. It should STICK! No, we don't want the cell automatically
'wrapping' to a mile long thin cell. We want it to do what we told it to do
when we formatted the damn spreadsheet in teh first place. If we say 'do not
wrap', then DON'T!
The second problem is Libre Calc currently loses line break formatting of the
document. When cells are selected and exported, they end up combining into a
single monolithic block of text instead of preserving the paragraph structure
=(
The THIRD problem is there SHOULD be a way to DISable the return key forcing
you out of a cell when editing it's content. We should have the OPTION to use
only the mouse selection as cell navigator. That way, we can edit create new
paragraphs WITHIN the cell's content by hitting the return key, writing some
more stuff, etc.
Lastly, there are a couple DEAL KILLER interface bugs that make your entire
office line of products useless to most people. You will pretend they are
'minor gripes' or 'not relevant', but it IS what is keeping your product from
being widely accepted. They are the following:
Your program should follow whatever the user has selected as their Windows
theme. That means if they choose a DARK theme, whatever it's color, that color
is used as the background on your tool bars and spreadsheet background (parts
the user has not custom highlighted), etc. This of course includes removing
those STUPID and ANNOYING 'gradients' that fuk up the visibility on the 'ruler'
portion of the spreadsheet, making it look like a series of gleaming jelly
beans. If we want to look at something 'pretty', we will go watch a movie or
something. A spreadsheet is a TOOL, and the more easily visible the better,
which means following what the USER, not the lazy 'programmer' pretends 2
'want'. What they typically 'want' is 2 attack the USER & pretend they R their
NEEDS R the 'problem'. That is totally nihilist, defeatist bull$hit! We want
U 2 follow OUR theme WE have chosen. Don't want 2 do it? FINE! We will
simply not use your program =)) & that is Y still after decades your program
is so unknown, because U never fix these simple, easy and fundamental
'deal-killer' bugs! FIX THEM PLEASE! GET A CLUE! I WILL PAY YOU FOR IT!
The last bug is totally INSANE! When the user has a dark theme on Windows, the
program automaticaly goes into 'accessibility' mode where it REMOVES all of the
user's custom highlighting. WTF? What the hell does 'accessibility' have to
do with UNDOING what the USER has already selected that THEY want? This is a
BUG in your program, not a 'feature'. FIX IT!
So, there are several problems here. If anybody wants to fix them, let me
know, and how much you will charge to do it 'for the community', as well as
your price for fixes that I personally will own outright and can SELL so that
your program can gain wide acceptance =) A third option is we could start a
crowd fund for these fixes to help reimburse programmer's time =D I'm all for
helping people, so try to help THE USER once in a while by fixing these bugs
that have made your line of progucts USELESS to us for DECADES. I always check
back for your new versions, and you NEVER fix these OBVIOUIS bugs! I for the
longest time thought Micro$oft must be PAYING you guys to PURPOSELY destroy
your program like this, but perhaps you really are so CLUELESS that you simply
don't notice, or so LAZY that you CONTINUE 2 ignore them jsut because you don't
want to 'bother' making your program have BASIC functionality like FOLLOWING
THE UER'S CHOSEN WINDOWS THEME!! My god, what R U guys using 4 brains??
Seriously! =))
OK so who wants 2 get paid & how much? Here are the things we, the USERS,
want...
1) Follows our windows theme, including the toolbar background colors WE want,
withotu gradients or other 'jellybean gleam' bull$hit.
2) Does not conceal our highlighting or other formatting or go into
'compatability / accessibility' bull$hit just because we like a dark theme (can
work longer & with less eye strain =)
3) Allows using return key within cell conttent without hopping us out of the
cell (can be a selectable feature, useful for writing and editing DOCUMENTS
within a cell)
4) When copying cells for exporting, maintains the line breaks and other
'spaces' when pasting into a 3'rd party document editor like Word processors,
instead of squishing it into a monolithic block of text.
5) Make the disable cell wrapping feature STICK, so when pasting stuff into a
cell with line wrap defeated, it does NOT automatically start wrapping &
resizing the cell.

=)
I think, as a user, it would be reasonable to charge $30 retail for these bug
fixes, but if y ou think that is too high, we could maybe charge people ONE
dollar per fix, or for them all? I am thinking I could pay to have these BUGS
in your program FIXED, and then recover that cost by SELLING the fixes, or of
course, YOU GUYS could sell these FIXES for your BUGS. T hey are not
'FEATURES.' They are BUGS!
