set numbering in Tools > Outline numbering
> Document shows numbering
Insert TOC (Insert > Indexes and Tables > Indexes and Tables ..)
Make sure that at the tab Entries the E# (for Chapter No) is placed at the
Structure line
OK
> No numbering in TOC
