Generally it's enough to open the next menu and go back to the desired menu to get all available entries. That said, I do not have a clear scenario to reproduce the problem, it seems to depends on the machine activity. I just created a new clean Unity session on my PC, will see if I still reproduce the problem in a session without residues from gnome (various species), xfce and old parameters from bugged Unity (since Ubuntu 11.10).
