Of course you do not, because there is no animation. The transition continues to show the old slide for 1/3 of the transition's run time, thenreplaces it by black screen for another 1/3 and then switches to the new slide. That means that if one checks it in preview, one will see black (because there is no previous slide), followed by black, followed by a slide.
