I filed a bug report about Auto Correct maybe ten minutes ago. I am MORTIFIED
that I cannot reproduce the bug.
I had stated that Auto Correct, applied after typing, would convert straight
quotes to curly quotes in non-portable version 4.3.0.4, but it would not do so
in portable version 4.3.2.2
I have just tried to apply Auto Correct to a long document in non-portable
4.3.0.4 and it no longer corrects the straight quotes. I promise it worked half
an hour ago! I remember running a short test case so that I could note down
your exact menu names etc. I am at a complete loss. I am a programmer, so I am
used to taking care about these things.

PS I have just noticed that Bug 67194, which I raised in July 2013 about this
very problem, has not yet been assigned to anyone. This is proof that I must
have been dreaming. And yet...I saw what I saw. What can I say? I was so
chuffed, too.
