Bug ID: 84849
Summary: Windows XP Saved .doc file as 97/2000/XP/2003.
Occasionally corrupted - Message Not WinWord 97
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.2.6.3 release
Hardware: x86 (IA32)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Windows XP, version 4.2.6.3, .doc file saved as 97/2000/XP/2003.
Writer occasionally corrupts - trying to open reveals a message that "This is
not a WinWord 97 file". No success opening with other modalities. TextViewer
cannot open, but recognizes the file as a WinWord 2.0 file, but converter has
no effect. My .bak file is ok, but tedious importing. I have an UPS, but have
encountered no power problems. I am experimenting with whether I am saving, and
then exiting, without closing first, but I try to be careful about that.
