As mentioned in bug 85059, with the Tools->Options->Load/Save->Microsoft Office
settings checked by default, embedded objects are being converted when a file
is loaded (e.g. attachment 107871), which either slows down the loading on
Linux or halts LibO on Windows.
So the solution as stated by Meeks is "we should convert them as/when we need
to on activation / macro use etc. but ... it is there." as it "Seems to be
spending a lot of time re-saving the embedded objects as ODF etc."
