I think it should be the same in both, I prefer to have it visible. - In Writer, 'Insert Comment' and 'Insert Footnote' icons are already there by default, but case effects are not. Can you please CREATE icons for them and ADD them to Formatting toolbar (as not visible until drop-down buttons)? I suggest icons with stylized letters: Sc (sentense case), sc (small), AC (all capitals), CW (capitalize - every - words), tC (toggle case) or maybe Abc, abc, ABC, AaBbCc (well, somehow..), aBC.
