Issue would seem to be with selection of styles (default and custom) present on
the Style List for any component. As Cor notes, once they are selected they can
be deleted from the context menu.

But presently, one can only select a single style from any of the listings
(Paragraph, Character, Frame, Page, List) which is reasonable if it is being
applied to a document.  

What is missing is an ability to manage the style list, e.g. to select multiple
from the list and delete.  This can be done outside LibreOffice by opening the
ODF archive and editing the styles.xml file as needed. But not done
"efficiently" within the GUI. Not clear that just adjusting to allow a
selection range is the only solution.  Went back and checked only one in 3.5,
3.6 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2 so no regression. Setting as an enhancement.
