In LibreOffice we don't have an option to set the word breaking character. I am from Kerala a state in India. My mother tongue is Malayalam. Even in Malayalam people follow different standards to represent word break. In traditional system we don't have any hyphenation character to represent word break. So the proof readers who follow the traditional system wont allow the hyphenation characters. So people have to use Shift+Enter to avoid the situation.
