So to rename LO directory profile, means to rename LibreOffice directory profile, the directory where all the LibreOffice settings are stored. You said you installed French Help, could you uninstall it for the test and try again? I'm not sure but I think that if LibreOffice Help version doesn't correspond exactly to LibreOffice version, you may have problems.
