Well, I need to continue work after this and frankly in my opinion the total reliance on online help in LO wasn't the best idea ever. Anyway. Installed 4.3.3.2. No strange message, no crash. I can draw controls to my hearts contend. Problem seems to be resolved. I'm changing this to Resolved Fixed.
