As this is an optional OS-provided function, the workaround is to "Assign to None" or just not assign the application to a given desktop space. At best, it is a request for enhancement, but there are similar issues already in bugzilla in this regard, i.e. correct management of LO NSMain with regard to OS window management possibilities.
