I can not reproduce the issue with LibreOffice 4.3.3 and 4.4.0 beta2 on Debian x86-64. The document is being opened quickly and the content of the document is visible. As far as I do not know which patch solves the issue, I set bugstatus to RESOLVED WORKSFORME.
