This is good. Perhaps best solution in my case would be upgrading to the 4.3
family. As soon as we finish this bug track, I'll proceed as so.

Perfectly writable. That's expected, as I said: it worked fine up to 4.2.7.2.
I believe 4.2.8.2 was based on a bugged code stream and the problem was
reinserted on Still versions - I hope it stops on 4.2.8.2...
Path is C:\Users\<my user>\AppData\Roaming\LibreOffice\4\user\backup

There is a new update to share: I updated LO on 20th-Dec-2014 and backup dir
lists some backup files older than that.
I suspect the problem is throwing an error message but things are still being
done.
