Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Calc (maybe any other module with the search bar will also do the job).
2. Press CTRL + F to open the search bar.
3. In the search field type some content and then click the arrow down/up to
perform a search.
4. Press the X in the search bar to close it.
5. Press CTRL + F to open the search bar.
The search field does now contain the string from the last search but the
search arrows are disabled.
