My setting of Samba in /etc/fstab is: //server_name/folder /media/short_name cifs guest,rw,hard,nosetuids,noperm,iocharset=utf8,sec=ntlm 0 0 Another working (open odt/doc,saving in LO; or working with another software and also with Samba - Firefox, Gimp, Inkscape, Thunderbird....) are OK. So I think, that the setting of Samba is good, another software has no problem.
