example table - odt
Pasting a partial cell (text) string value fails spuriously.
This may be related to 82076 or 84696, or may be a false indication because of
86255.
When you type into a cell, there does not appear to be any failure, but I
cannot be sure.
Indications:
1) move to a cell on the table in the document.
2) copy the text within the cell (NOT the cell as a whole, I believe --- but
this may only occur if the whole cell value is copied as a string)
3) move to a different cell (best on another window of the same document
(window/new window)
4) position the cursor at the beginning of the string in a cell. (for me, I
only noticed this on column 2 because I was always working to alter that
column, but it could be more general).
5) paste the value so as to place it at the beginning of the string in the
destination cell
Actual Result - Failure
6) The pasted string appears in the end of the string in the cell in the column
to the left of the cell being pasted into.
In other words, instead of ONLY appearing at the beginning of the appropriate
cell's contents, it either ends up as the last portion of the next left
adjacent cell or it is both pasted into the next left cell at the end AND at
the beginning of the string in the properly selected destination cell.
(The failure indication may actually only be that it pastes into the next left
adjacent cell, as, for me, I am quick to re-paste if the expected result is not
detected quickly, so the ' OR ' above may not be correct.)
I cannot be sure when the behavior will occur, so I have the sense that it
might occur only when I copy all of the contents (probably the contents alone,
not the cell) of the source cell and paste it into the beginning of the
destination cell. I feel this because I was less often doing this, and did not
really notice 'partial contents' being pasted into the next left cell. Because
of the activity I was performing, I cannot be absolutely clear on that.
I was most often working in the docx formatted file. ODT and docx are attached
tables attached.
