Bug #: 47857
Summary: Table distroyed when saving as MS Word 6.0
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.5.1 Release
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
Open Writer, create a new document with a simple table in it, and add some text
to the table cells. Then save as MS Word 6.0 (which, btw, it the default Word
format when saving with a .doc extension).
Then open the produced .doc file in Writer again (or in MS Word, indeed): the
table is lost and the text of all the cells appears as a single string.
Let me also note that if you open the document in MS Word (2007 in my case)
some strange characters do appear between the text of the table cells.
This bug does not occur if you save in Word 2007+ .docx or even as Word 97-2003
.doc format.
