I can't reproduce a crash on Linux, but I can see that until

the "abc" is followed by a long string of junk in the edit box upon paste. This
commit is in 4.4.0.
(I also see that the text is bizzarely pasted with a size of 638.7, but that
seems to be a separate problem)
@Bugcruncher and/or @sophie: Can you reproduce this issue since 4.4.0 release?
(from 4.2.x to 4.4 release or later)
