document derived thumbnail views are not generated nor held in the per-user
registrymodifications.xcu, rather generic LibreOffice branding icons are used
as place holders in the StartCenter thumbnail view panel.
All talk about security is basically FUD.
For folks with legitimate security concerns, would recommend you simply set a
password for your document.
And if you are HIPPA constrained environment, you're already doing that right?
In answer to OPs original request for enhancement, as mentioned you can
suppress the Recent Documents list and associated thumbnails by setting from
Expert Configuration the value PickListSize to 0--or simply reduce it from its
current maximum of 25. As in comment 10.
The tweak to StartCenter.ui as in comment 19 comment 20 only disables the
drawing of the Thumbnail views panel--the thumbnails are generated and recorded
for each document to registrymodifications.xcu as base64 encoded images.
