Bug ID: 90655
Summary: FILEOPEN General I/O error loading big .pptx file
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.2.2 release
Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: major
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
FILEOPEN Encountered general I/O error when trying to open a 230 slide 379 MB
.pptx file. memory set to 1024 MB, 5 MB per, 250 objects. Except for first
slide, each consists of a text caption plus large 300 dpi image inserted.
Libre Impress crashed consistently at about 60% of greenbar traversal, in
normal as well as read-only mode file open. Same presentation in .odp file
format loads fine with Libre Impress. FYI OpenOffice loads the same .pptx
file, but does not display about 20% if the images (those slides just have the
picture captions).
Suspect that the difficulty lies in caption text blocks that overlap with
inserted image boundaries on some slides.
This presentation was sent to me by its author, who composed it using MS Office
on a MAC.
Thanks in advance for your support. I can send a copy of the .pptx file if you
want it for testing.
Rob
