That is not a bug not a correct enhancement (from typography point of view).
The bigger character in the row set the row height; if you make bigger a set of
not capitalized characters like p ou g, you need room below the line. The right
mean to have a big character at the start of the line is to use drop capital.

Closing as WontFix. If you disagree, please reopen as UNCONFIRMED and develop
your argumentation.
