Bug ID: 90896
Summary: Incorrect label for Table Caption in Spanish
localization
Product: LibreOffice
Version: Inherited From OOo
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Localization
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
In LibO 4.4 with Spanish locale, table caption is translated as "Etiqueta".
This translation is not the same used for figures and illustrations captions in
LibO 4.4, which are translated as "Pie".
Moreover, LibO 4.3 with Spanish locale has table caption consistently
translated as "Pie".
Furthermore, with LibO 3.5 with Spanish locale, table captions are translated
as "Título".
IMHO, the best way to translate "table caption" is the one provided by LibO
3.5. But if not possible, at least there should be consistent between different
captions commands in the translated UI.
Steps:
1) Open Writer 4.4
2) Insert a table
3) Look for the button to add a caption. Put the mouse pointer over the
"caption" button in the table toolbar
4) The hint says only "Etiqueta", which, at least for me (native spanish
speaker) means a piece of paper, not a table caption.
4b) The rest of button captions (figure, image, chart) are translated as "Pie"
in LibO 4.3
4c) LibO 3.5 translates "caption" as "Título", which IMHO is best than "Pie" or
"Etiqueta".
5) Caption translation should be consistent between different commands.
