Hi again. My laptop just had a problem again, the screen went black so I had to
turn it off by hardware (pressing power button for 6 seconds) while definitely
having the Calc file open (the fixed one I talked about in my previous
comment).

So when I rebooted the system and restarted LO, it offered to recover the file
and, after I accepted, asked for the password before proceeding, as it should.
It's working ok now, so hard-resetting Windows is probably not the cause.
