Bug ID: 92075
Summary: FORMATTING: When using =cell in a cell the number
formatting becomes set but shows wrong
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
When you add the value of a cell to other cell by entering = and then going
clicking on another cell the number formatting get set to the formatting of the
original cell, but sometimes the value shown in the result cell does not use
the formatting until you cause a redraw by scrolling that cell outside the view
area and back. This seems to happen fairly often if the cells are far from
each other.
Example/how to reproduce:
-Type 1.555555 in cell A1
-Format cell A1 to have number format: 0.00 (format cell->number)
-See that the cell shows: 1.56
-Then scroll somewhere so that the cell A1 is not visible and select a cell
there. I used Z1. What you use may vary depending on how many cells you see.
-Check number formatting of that cell(Z1) and see that it is "general"
-Type = into that cell(Z1)
-Use scroll bars to scroll so that you see A1 and click the cell A1 so that the
formula becomes =A1
-Press enter to accept formula
-about 80% probability of following:
--See that the cell(Z1) shows 1.555555 (ie. no formatting applied)
--Optional steps:
---Check number formatting of that cell(Z1) and see that it is "0.00" (format
cell->number) (ie. The format of cell A1 is added as the format of cell Z1)
---Click cancel on the format cell to leave it as it is.
---See that the cell(Z1) still shows 1.555555 (ie. no formatting applied)
--End optional steps
--Scroll so that the target cell(Z1) is outside the visible area.
--Scroll the target cell(Z1) back into to visible area.
--See that the cell shows 1.56 (ie. formatting applied)
-About 20% probability of the cell showing 1.56 directly.
If both the source and destination cells are within the visible area at the
same time like when using cell B1 as the target cell instead of the Z1 above
the cell will "always" show the correctly formatted value (1.56 in this case)
Expected behavior:
That the behavior was the same regardless of the distance between the two
cells.
