I have just switched from LO-3.3.4 to LO-3.5.2, built from sources on Gentoo.
Using this version, the splashscreen is always positioned on the leftmost
screen, regardless of the screen libreoffice is started on (I have 3 monitors).
My uneducated guess (don't take it as an axiom, though) is that this may come
from the fix of the bug #33214

If I understand this correctly, the splash screen is now always positioned in
the middle of primary screen. The problem is that I have no 'primary' screen
defined, but my leftmost screen is feeded from the second output of my graphics
card, so maybe it is expected to be the middle one? They are positioned like
this: [2][3][1]
I am using awesome WM, screens are configured via xrandr (using --left-of and
--right-of options, both in relation to the monitor #3), no xinerama enabled
(albeit LO pulls libXinerama as a dependency).
The expected behaviour would be to show splash on the screen that LO is
launched on, which is how all other apps behave and how it worked in 3.3.4
