            Bug ID: 92313

          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Formula Editor
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

1: w/h proportions ok after creating 1st formula

When creating a new formula in Writer the size of the object frame is
calculated automatically. Width/Height ratio is set so that characters display
the same size as normal text.

However, if the frame style is modified in Writer, then (1) existing formulas
AND (2) new formulas are distorted (width/height ratio is incorrect), and font
size is different from normal text. (1) existing and (2) new formulas bahave
differently, though.

Reproducing error:

1) make sure that default font in Writer matches default font setting in
Formula editor (Liberation Sans in example)
2) Create a new document (Ctrl+N)
3) Type " a=1" + Enter
4) Format "a" to Italic
5) Insert new Formula (Insert/Object/Formula)
6) Type "a=1" in Formula editor, close Formula editor
7) Compare plain text and Formula text (should be the same size, except for
spacing between characters) ---> see attachment formula-1.png
8) Open Styles and Formatting, if not visible by default (F11)
9) Select formula created in step 5)
10) Select Formula style in styles and formatting box, right click and edit
Frame style
11) In window "Frame Style:Formula" go to Borders and set an all 4 sides
border.
12) Click OK, this changes the style and reformats existing formula
13) Examine formula created in step 5): now the height/width ratio is distorted
(bug 1) ---> see attachment formula-2.png
14) on a new line, create another formula as in steps 5) and 6)
15) Examine new formula, now the width is about half of the necessary width,
the characters are even more distorted (bug 2) ---> see attachment
formula-3.png
16) Select the "Formula" frame style and remove the border
17) Examine results: first formula is now OK, second formula remains distorted
---> see attachment formula-4.png
18) Create a third identical formula, it is now OK again ---> see attachment
formula-5.png

Clearly, the odd behavior is caused by the border defined on the frame style.
Affects existing and new formulas, but in a different way. Really annoying,
especially since there is currently no way to reset formula frame size.
