Bug ID: 92363
Summary: FORMATTING & TABLE: Insert page break (Ctrl + Enter)
and insert paragraph (Alt + Enter) before table does
not work after page break
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.4.3 rc
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
If the cursor is at the beginning of the first cell in a table then pressing
Alt + Enter will insert a paragraph before the table. Ctrl + Enter (Insert →
Manual break) will insert a page break before the table and the table will be
at the beginning of a new page.
If the table is at the beginning of the document or after a manual page break
then pressing Enter will insert a paragraph before the table. That paragraph
will adopt the page break and the table will no longer be marked with a page
break.
However, if the table is at the beginning of the document and because there is
nothing before it, Ctrl + Enter will mark the table with a page break but no
page will be inserted. Undo will have an item for “Insert page break”.
Pressing Alt +Enter will insert a paragraph and put the table on a new page.
If a table is after a manual page break then pressing Alt + Enter will insert a
paragraph before the page break and not between the page break and the table.
Pressing Ctrl + Enter on a table that is after a page break will not insert
another page break.
Ctrl + Enter should insert a paragraph before a table that is at the beginning
of a document or after a page break. This behaviour is already established
when performing Ctrl + Enter on normal paragraphs—even on ones not directly
after a page break.
Alt + Enter should insert a paragraph between a page break and a table. I
checked this behaviour with sections and it also does not insert a paragraph
between a page break and a section.
