Bug ID: 92391
Summary: LibreOffice Impress User Interface (UI) Combine
'Notes' → 'Normal'
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.4.3 rc
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
The aim of the suggestions below are to enable:
a) more efficient use of the screen real estate;
b) simplification of the LibreOffice Impress UI; and
c) increased office productivity with LibreOffice Impress.
Currently the location of the sections called 'Normal', 'Outline', 'Notes',
'Handout', 'Slide Sorter' wastes a lot of screen real estate above the slide:
1. Suggestion move the sections called 'Normal', 'Outline', 'Notes', 'Handout',
'Slide Sorter' into the 'Slide Pane'.
When creating a presentation with the 'Normal' section, diagrams, animations,
transitions, videos, etc can be applied. However, Notes can not be added.
Creating notes before, during and/or after a slide is created requires going to
the 'Notes' section. There is currently a 'Slide Pane' on the right and a 'Side
Bar' on the left:
2. Suggestion in the 'Normal' section enable a 'Notes' pane at the bottom of
the screen.
You can 'Hide' both the 'Slide Pane' and 'Side Bar'. If the suggested 'Notes'
pane is incorporated into the 'Normal' section then:
3. Suggestion enable 'Notes' pane to be resized or hidden.
If the Notes section is incorporated into the 'Normal' section:
4. Suggestion remove the 'Notes' section from sections called 'Normal',
'Outline', 'Notes', 'Handout', 'Slide Sorter'.
If the UI changes are incorporated, then the 'Slide Pane' function has changed:
5. Suggestion rename the 'Slide Pane' to 'View Pane'.
As the 'Slide Pane' can be hidden:
6. Suggestion to enable the view to be changed, add 'Normal', 'Slide Sorter'
and 'Slide Show' icons to the status bar.
Thank you
