I think, you are right with your assessment! having executed the instructions on "https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile"; the crash happens by choosing "Extras=>Options=>Internet=>MediaWiki". Since that time i locate some inconveniences directly in the OS. Virus-Scan couldn't find any great risk but my Win8.1 shows some strange behaviour which i have to fix first.
