Bug ID: 92652
Summary: Ho do I remove the List og headings from an ODT?
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.2.8.2 release
Hardware: IA64 (Itanium)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I am busy writing a book using Writer. When I convert that .odt to .epub using
Calibre, the headings (H1-2-3) (used for chapter/paragraph headings) get
numbers prepended to them, like so:
1 1 1 Chapter 1
1 1 1 Chapter 2
Someetimes there are three numbers, sometimes two ones, sometimes it's a single
1. (I've only ever seen ones, no other numbers).
I've reported this to Kovid Goyal (dev of Calibre), this was his reply:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is because the ODT file actually has a list defined for those
headings.
Your easiest solution is to simply edit the generated epub file using
the calibre editor, it should be a simple matter to remove the list
markup.
Alternateively, you will have to figure out how to convince whatever
software you are using to edit that ODT file to remove the list
declarations. Easiest way would likely be to delete that section and its
surrounding text and re-type it. You will notice that there is a single
item list before each of the problem headings. That is likely what is
causing the issue.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not looking forward to having to remember to combersomely edit the
generated file for every epub I ever generate. Any way I can automagically
delete the list/turn it off?
Thanks in advance!
