Ofir <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEEDINFO |UNCONFIRMED Ever confirmed|1 |0 --- Comment #5 from Ofir <[email protected]> --- @Joel - When you insert animated GIF in old PowerPoint version (PPT) it creates a PNG with the first frame of the animation and insert the animated GIF inside the PNG as a comment. If you try to open the PNG in Firefox or Chrome or any other viewer, it will be static and won't animate. If you extract the animated GIF from the PNG, and view it in Firefox, it will animate. I'm suggesting to extract the animated GIF from the PNG when importing PPT with such an image, instead of keeping the PNG. If you'll open the attached PNG in a text viewer you'll see that the original animated GIF starts after 'msOGMSOFFICE9.0GIF89a'. Extracting the original GIF is simple. To reproduce: 1. Open the attached PPT in LO. 2. See that the image has animation. 3. Save to ODP. 4. Unzip the ODP. 5. Try to view the PNG from the unzipped folder in firefox: gif/Pictures/10000023000000EB000000F0FBC891C1.png 6. The image is static, you don't see the animation. Desired result: 1. Open the attached PPT in LO. 2. Save to ODP. 3. Unzip the ODP. 4. Get standard animated GIF. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
