User RGB filed the original bug/request with regard the Spanish alphabet, mentioning other languages too. The request is essentially for numbered/ordered lists to use the alphabet of the document language or another languag chosen by the user, whether Spanish, Italian or, in my case, Welsh (Cymraeg), as in the example below.
