Bug ID: 92793
Summary: UI: Cursor disappears when editing a cell using
formula bar
Product: LibreOffice
Version: Inherited From OOo
Hardware: Other
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In Calc, when editing a cell using the formula bar, the cursor in the sheet
(thick rectangle border indicating current cell) completely disappears. This
can sometimes make it a bit difficult to figure out which cell is being edited.
Steps to reproduce:
* New spreadsheet
* Select a cell
* Click in the formula bar to edit current cell
Expected:
I would expect to be able to edit the selected cell and still have a strong
visual indication of which cell we are modifying. If not the standard cell
border cursor, I would expect some other prominent visual cue.
Actual:
Our cursor is now gone. Aside from row/column headings being highlighted, we
have a completely blank document with no indication of which cell we're
modifying.
Notes:
This is quite trivial and I'm still not completely convinced that it's valid,
but struck me as a decent enhancement request. It also becomes less of an
issue when one has a sheet that is full of data. It is also quite easy to work
around by either looking at the row/column headings or typing something in a
cell and watching for motion.
The cursor around the cell also disappears when editing the cell directly (f2
or double clicking a cell), but this behavior somehow seems more intended.
Again, sorry if this is rather piddly, but I figure I'll at least attempt to
report it!
