Thanks for coming back for more information from my side.

Basic stats about my system is:
Win 7 Prof 32 bit
RAM = 4GB (3.22 usable)

Libre Office Version: 4.4.3.2
Build ID: 88805f81e9fe61362df02b9941de8e38a9b5fd16
Locale: en_ZA

The original files was an Excel 2002. I recently changed to LibreOffice and the
file is still in the Excel format.
I presume that sometime back there was probably a linked file, but is no more
the case. Excel open it without
issues. Also if you checked for linked files in Excel, the Edit/Links are
disabled.
I simplified the original file to something very basic. When I tried to open,
the file still gives the message:
"This file contains links to other files. Should they be updated?"

Once loaded, the Edit/Links instruction is also greyed out.

I suppose an old linked file flag is still set that causes the issue and I am
not able yet to find a way to reset it.

I hope this will help you to resolve the problem.

Regards

FCK
